The Residential Foreclosure Mediation Program helps borrowers and lenders work together to explore options that may be available to avoid foreclosure. Mediation sessions are confidential meetings led by a neutral third-party (a trained mediator).
The program is voluntary, and is available at no cost to homeowners in residential foreclosure cases filed in both Winnebago County and Boone County.
Homeowners with a pending foreclosure case that timely complete an application may opt-in to the program. The application and additional program information is available at ilforeclosureprogram.org
