Due to winter weather conditions, the 17th Judicial Circuit Court announces the following:
Except for the 1:30 p.m. initial appearance court in Courtroom B at the Criminal Justice Center, the Winnebago County Courts, Winnebago County Probation Department, and the Alternative Dispute Resolution Center will be closed on Monday, March 16.
All Winnebago County court hearings, including Zoom appearances, are canceled and will be rescheduled except as noted below.
Under Administrative Order 2019-2, any order of protection that was set to expire on the day the court is closed will instead expire the next day the court is open. If someone wants to continue their order of protection, they must go to the Circuit Clerk’s Office or call the office the next day the courthouse is open and ask to see a judge about their order.
People who were summoned for their first day of jury service on March 16 at the Winnebago County Jury Commission should not report. Their summons is canceled and they are excused from service.
Jurors who are already serving in Courtroom 412 with Judge Fabiano will receive instructions about when to report on Tuesday, March 17.
The Boone County Courts remains open, initial appearance court will be pushed back to 1:30 p.m. in Courtroom 1.
