When you get your check there will be three sections. The top is the check, the middle is proof of your jury service, and the bottom is like a paystub.

If you moved out of Winnebago County, proof will need to be emailed at This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it., mailed, or brought in to 400 W. State Street, Suite 502, Rockford, IL 61101, to prove that you moved out of the county.

In order to excuse you we will need to have a signed medical excuse. If you would like to serve, no action is needed at this time.

If you would like to be excused, please contact your physician and have them send a signed medical excuse, with your juror ID and DOB included to our fax at (815) 969-0274 or our email This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it.. Medical excuses must state that the juror cannot serve currently, and when they would be able to serve on a jury. Permanent medical excuses must state that a total and permanent disability is present, describe the disability, how it prevents the juror from serving, and states that the juror will never be able to serve as a juror. This must be signed by a licensed physician.

You will need to check in to make sure we received the medical excuse after your doctor has sent it.

In order to excuse you we will need to have enrollment verification. If you would like to serve, no action is needed at this time. If you receive a summons with a service date during your academic school year.  We can reschedule you for a time when you are not in school.

No, only jurors are allowed in the assembly room. Anyone else will have to wait outside of the room.

No, unless the person has legal authority (such as power of attorney) and the court has approved it.

Unfortunately, there is not time to move cars.

You are still allowed to be a juror. We will still require you to serve.

Unfortunately, there are no occupational exemptions. We can reschedule jurors one time, to make your service more convenient.
