Lawyer to Lawyer Mentoring Program This mentoring program designed to pair newest members of the bar with a trained and experienced attorney mentor as a means to provide a resource and framework for new attorneys to gain experience, seek advice, and to obtain information about the law and law-related interests, as well as becoming more knowledgeable and involved in the community. While all new attorneys will be assigned a primary mentor, he or she will also be able to interact with any of the other mentors to enhance practice skills and improve competencies. Under the authority of Local Rule 21, participation in this mentoring program is mandatory for all newly licensed attorneys practicing or seeking to practice law within the Seventeenth Circuit. Mentoring relationships last for a period of one year. The attorneys and judges selected to act as mentors are trained in a mentoring curriculum created by the Commission on Professionalism Should anyone have questions regarding this mentoring program please contact Kimberly Ackmann, Deputy Court Administrator by phone: 815.319.4806 or email: This email address is being protected from spambots.
