Administrative Order 2019-02 states that “When the courthouse is closed to the public due to unanticipated events such as inclement weather the Court will construe that date as a 'court holiday' for purposes of 750 ILCS 60/220 (f) of the Illinois Domestic Violence Act which states as follows: "Termination date. Any order of protection which would expire on a court holiday shall instead expire at the close of the next court business day.” On the next court business day, Petitioners should go to the Circuit Clerk’s office prior to the close of business (4:30 p.m.) to get assistance with getting an extension order to extend their Emergency Order of Protection (EOP) and a new plenary court date set for the matter.
The Boone County Courthouse remains open and will conduct all scheduled hearings for the full day.
